How I Found Out I Had Thyroid Disease

These are the tests you need to ask a healthcare provider for:

  1. Complete thyroid panel. That is TSH, T3, T4, free T3, free T4, and thyroid antibodies.
  2. Vitamin D.
  3. B12
  4. Cholesterol. It is often high (the bad kind) for low thyroid patients.

You can also do a basal thermometer body check every morning. I recommend what Dr. Barnes recommends. Here is the link.

If your healthcare provider does not listen to you, fire him/her. Ask friends, neighbors and online strangers who you should call. Locally, I recommend Lindsey Gillum, a nurse practitioner who has worked with a functional medicine doctor but is now with a gynecologist. So she knows women's issues and how to treat them. Here's her info. And I also recommend Debbie Velez, a nurse practitioner. Her business office is 501-324-2643. She's in the Doctors Building in Little Rock, AR.
